More than 200 football fans donned their orange hats and turned up to protest outside Swindon's County Ground.

The latest Spirit of '69 protest took place at 2.30pm on Saturday, February 8, following Swindon's draw 3:3 against Port Vale.

It comes after the protest group has expressed rising anger towards the way Swindon Town Football Club is run.

An estimated 200-250 supporters gathered around the back of the Arkell's stand on Saturday afternoon, waving orange flags and wearing orange hats to show their support for the cause.

More than 20 police officers surrounded the County Ground with several stationed near the site of the protest, but the officers weren't needed as the event remained peaceful.

But despite the good turnout, the protest only lasted approximately 15-20 minutes, and fans quickly dispersed due to the cold weather.

"It's a shame Clem didn’t come out."

This is the second time that the group has protested against Swindon Town, after an estimated 600 Swindon fans marched to Statue Park in December 2024 to demonstrate their dissatisfaction with club management.

Controversial signs credited to The Spirit of '69 protest group have also appeared on advertising boards on the Magic Roundabout.

Protest organiser Rich Pullen told the Advertiser: "We were not sure how many people would show up to this one to be honest but we were really encouraged by how many did."

"We will keep going for as long as we need to."

Co-founder Terry Pierce previously told the Swindon Advertiser: “Winning games is fun and we want that to happen but also having a solid League Two club is easier to sell than having a club that is fighting for its EFL status.

“From our point of view the turnaround in form is a good thing and it also doesn’t change our stance, it doesn’t appease us, and it doesn’t quieten us.

“Everything that we pointed out about Mr. [Clem] Morfuni’s incompetence remains and nothing has changed beyond the fact that for the first time in six tries, he seems to have gotten a managerial appointment correct.

“Ultimately Morfuni has a record of incompetence and dishonesty and that hasn’t suddenly been erased after four wins.

“The business is broken. They cannot run that business.”
