NON-LEAGUE clubs Tadcaster Albion, Pickering Town and Selby Town are back in action this weekend.

Pickering will be hoping to close the gap on Rossington Main on their third consecutive match at Mill Lane, with just three points separating the two teams in the Northern Counties Eastern League Premier Division.

It’s been a mixed start to the New Year for the Pikes, having kicked off 2025 with a 1-0 win over Campion, before failing to hold back promotion hopefuls Penistone Church in a 3-0 defeat.

Rossington will prove a difficult team to match for Tony Hackworth’s side however, having enjoyed a run of four straight wins in their recent rise up the table.

Brad Grayson has played his part in that form, having scored twice in his last two games, something he’ll be hoping to add to on Saturday, January 25 at Mill Lane (3pm).

Tadcaster could do Pickering a favour as well, as they travel to a Parkgate side that are currently just one point above the Pikes.

Just one defeat in six for Taddy, which came against bottom side Goole, has seen the Brewers going steadily about their business despite manager Mick O’Connell’s frustrations with how the campaign has gone.

After flooding forced postponements at the Young Guns Arena, Albion’s only match of the year so far ended goalless against Winterton Rangers.

Parkgate on the other hand haven’t managed to win a match since November, losing four of their last six.

Saturday’s match at the Parkgate Sports and Social Club (3pm) could therefore give Tadcaster the platform to earn their first three points of 2025, with the league top scorer Elliott Andrew surely playing a pivotal role in their chances.

Finally, Selby are in Division One action when they make the journey to South Leeds on Saturday (3pm).

Selby's hopes for the play-offs have been dampened with just two wins in their last eight, with a tricky tie against a South Leeds side that are just three points adrift of the top five this weekend.

The recent form of Harry Clapham has been a bright spark for Town, with the striker netting four in his last five, as the Robins look to close the gap on the play-off places themselves.

It will also be South Leeds’ first match of the year after not playing since December 28, however, they have managed three wins from their last four.
