AN Inverclyde swim club celebrated a year of splashing success at their annual presentation night last weekend.
Members of the Inverclyde Amateur Swimming Club (IASC) gathered at the Port Glasgow Town Hall, swapping their goggles and swim caps for suits and sparkles for a night of celebration after a busy year of competitions.
With club members, coaches and families in attendance, the youngsters were awarded for achievements from the 2024 season, revealing the winners from the IASC championship gala which took place in November last year.
On the night, each swimmer was presented with a certificate detailing their times across all strokes with a note of the improvements they made from the 2023 championship - the first, second and third place three swimmers from both the boys and girls age groups were awarded with engraved glass trophies.
There was also a new trophy donated by a former head coach of the club, Patricia Tate to be presented every year to the swimmer with the most internationally recognised performance points (LEN points) for the 200m individual medley event.
The first winner of the Pat Tate Trophy was Luke Garrity.
15-year-old Abi McAnerney winning at the British Championships last year for the 50M Butterfly.
For the first time in the club's history, a member has become a British Age Group Champion withAbi was unable to attend the presentation night as she was competing in Switzerland with the Scottish Swimming squad at the 58th Geneva International Challenge Meet.
A representative of IASC said the night was a "fantastic success" with all the kids having great night dancing with parents and coaches joining in.
Alongside the disco, there was also a raffle with prizes donated by Inverclyde Leisure, Waterfront Cinema, The Tontine Hotel and many more local businesses, with all funds raised going back into the club.
IASC Club President Diane Fay said: “It’s been a another fantastic year of success for the club and swimmers in the pool.
"Our swimmers and their parents are so committed to this sport and it’s right we recognise and celebrate their achievements and have so much fun like they have [on presentation nights].
"Parents support is vital not only to our swimmers but the club and we can’t operate without the coaches of course and volunteers to make nights like [these] happen.
"We are always looking for new members so please visit our website to find out how you can get your kids involved and join us."
