Crystal Palace extended their unbeaten run away from home to seven games with a comfortable two-goal victory over West Ham.

Jean-Philippe Mateta opened the scoring for Crystal Palace after Eberechi Eze picked the ball up in midfield and slotted him through. The Frenchman got the better of Max Kilman before picking out the bottom corner.

The 27-year-old doubled Palace’s lead and ensured all three points would be heading back to South London after Eddie Nketiah won a penalty in the 89th minute.

Here are Bobby Manzi’s player ratings:

Dean Henderson - 6

Did not have a save to make. Had the best seat in the house to watch Mateta’s double.

Chris Richards - 6.5

A better display. Made a few good clearances, albeit the hosts asked very few questions of him. Improved in possession.

Maxence Lacroix - 7

Marshalled the centre of defence excellently. Was the busiest of the Palace backline. Made an exquisite last-ditch challenge to stop Mohammed Kudus from roaming through on goal in the 34th minute.

Marc Guehi - 6.5

Assured at the back, made eight recoveries. Continues to lead by example.

Daniel Munoz - 7

Solid attacking output in the first half, Emerson and Aaron Creswell struggled to cope with his high work rate. Played a few teasing balls beyond the West Ham defence, but his attacking teammates failed to capitalise.

The highlight came when he chased Creswell down and nicked the ball off the makeshift centre-back.

Will Hughes - 7

A smooth operator. His high pressures proved useful for Palace, with the 29-year-old often forcing the West Ham backline into mistakes. Was the most lively player on the pitch in the first 45. Controlled midfield.

Daichi Kamada - 7

His best showing in the pivot since joining the club. Was strong in possession, a tad lightweight defending in the first 20 minutes, but grew into the role.

Top-notch defensive awareness in the second half. West Ham could not get a sniff out of Palace's midfield pairing.

Tyrick Mitchell - 6

Fine defensively. Did not make use of his attacking opportunities with dubious passing and a lack of offensive awareness.

Ismaila Sarr - 6

Relatively quiet. Played one clever dummy to Mateta and won the flick on for Eze to go on and set up the opener. Was possibly carrying a hamstring strain. Hooked in the 68th minute for Justin Devenny.

Jean-Philippe Mateta - 8

Took his chance brilliantly, riffling the opener into the bottom corner from the edge of the box.

He drew two fouls from Konstantinos Mavropanos – who was sent off for two bookable offences – the best came when he nutmegged the defender before being hacked down.

Carried the ball from inside his own half in the build-up to Nketiah winning the penalty. Stepped up and put the penalty away for his second of the game, sealing three points.

The West Ham centre-backs could not handle the Frenchman, who has scored four goals in three games.

Eberechi Eze - 7

One of his brighter performances. Efficient flicks in possession. Crafted an excellent through ball to Mateta for the opener. Three assists in three for the Englishman, he is steadily improving. Made way for Eddie Nketiah with 15 minutes remaining.

Subs:

Justin Devenny - 6

Played the part well coming off the bench for the last 20 minutes.

Eddie Nketiah - 6.5

Had a chance the moment he was introduced, decided to take it wide and killed the angle. Won the penalty, inducing the foul from Fabianski. A solid cameo.

Nathaniel Clyne and Jeffrey Schlupp - N\A

Introduced after Palace found their second in the dying embers.
