Plymouth Albion have secured a major boost as head coach Ryan Lamb has signed a new two-year contract, extending his stay at the club until 2027.

Since taking charge, Lamb has transformed Albion into one of the most exciting and competitive sides in National League One. His leadership has been instrumental in guiding the team through a period of significant growth, and this new deal is a testament to the club’s belief in his long-term vision.

Lamb, a former Premiership and international fly-half, took the reins at Albion following a successful playing career with Gloucester, London Irish, Northampton Saints, and Worcester Warriors. His transition into coaching was seamless, bringing with him a wealth of top-level experience, tactical knowledge, and a winning mentality.

Under his guidance, Albion have enjoyed a remarkable run of form, including their current six-game unbeaten streak. His ability to develop young talent, instil a high-performance culture, and adapt tactically has been key to the club’s resurgence.

Reflecting on his contract extension, Lamb expressed his excitement for the future. "I’m absolutely delighted to be staying with Albion for another two years, it’s a no brainer," he said.

"This club has huge potential, and we’ve already made great strides forward. The support from the fans, the players, and everyone behind the scenes has been fantastic, and I truly believe we’re building something special here on and off the pitch.

"We’ve got a strong squad, a clear vision, and a fantastic team spirit. Now it’s about continuing to improve, pushing ourselves, and seeing how far we can take this group."

Albion’s board and management team were equally thrilled to secure Lamb’s services for the foreseeable future. Max Venables highlighted the impact the head coach has had on the club. "Ryan has done an outstanding job since taking over, and this contract extension is a reflection of the faith we have in him," he said.

"He has built a strong team both on and off the pitch, and his leadership is a key part of our ambitions moving forward. We’re excited to see how far he can take this club over the next two seasons."

With this new deal in place, Lamb will now focus on maintaining Albion’s strong league position and continuing their push for success. The club is in fantastic form, and with key players returning from injury, there’s every reason to believe they can climb even higher in the table.

Next up is a crucial away fixture against Blackheath on Saturday followed by a home match up against Sedgley Park on February 15. These matches will be an opportunity for Lamb’s team to prove just how far they have come under his leadership.
