Plymouth Argyle complete club record signing of Maksym Talovierov
New Plymouth Argyle club record signing Maksym Talovierov will be available for selection for the Championship match against West Bromwich Albion at Home Park tomorrow subject to EFL approval and international clearance.
The 6ft 5in Ukraine international defender has signed a three-and-a-half year contract with the Pilgrims after completing his transfer from Austrian Bundesliga club LASK Linz
The fee for Talovierov, who was part of Ukraine's squad at the Euro 2024 finals in Germany, has not been disclosed by either club, but it has previously been reported to be €2 million (around £1.7m).

It is the second time Argyle have made a club record signing this month after the arrival of Michael Baidoo for an undisclosed fee thought to have been £1.5m from Swedish side Elfsborg.
Talovierov is a much needed defensive signing for Argyle, who sold Lewis Gibson to Preston North End for £1.5m at the start of January and have had Brendan Galloway and Kornel Szucs both sidelined by injuries.
Head coach Miron Muslic said: "I have been open since I joined Argyle that we would be patient to bring in the right players who could help the team.
"In Maksym we feel we have done just that as he is a commanding presence who will add height and physicality to the side, but he is also good on the ball and technically good.
"Most importantly, he is a good defender and will strengthen our options in the defensive department of the squad. I am really pleased to bring him to the club and look forward to working with him."
Talovierov joined LASK Linz on a permanent deal from Czech club Slavia Prague in February 2024 after a couple of loan spells with them and made a total of 67 appearances for them.
Argyle head of recruitment Jimmy Dickinson added: "Maksym is someone we have been aware of and followed closely for a while. We have had to be patient to bring him to the club as he has had a lot of interest but he comes to Argyle ready to face the challenge, head on.
"He joins us with international and European pedigree having represented Ukraine and fits all the attributes both the recruitment team and Miron were looking for. I look forward to seeing him in the green of Argyle soon."
