Football fans have taken to social media to give their views over the Plymouth Argyle FA Cup draw for the fifth round tonight (Monday). The Pilgrims pulled off a shock Liverpool defeat yesterday (February 9), dumping the Premier League leaders out of the fan-favourite cup race with a 1-0 win at Home Park.

The FA Cup fifth-round draw was completed on camera on BBC One's The One Show, revealing that the game will see Manchester City playing host to Argyle in the next stage. Although Argyle bested Arne Slot's league leaders to claim the title of FA Cup 'giant killers' for the weekend, there are plenty of complaints of an 'easy' ride for City online.

Argyle fans seems to be ecstatic. However, many were cynical about Manchester City's fortunes.

Rob O’Connell @RobOConnell18 led the charge on X, posting of City's cup run: "They’ve got Salford, Leyton orient and Plymouth. That draw is rigged to bits."

Mark Goldbridge @markgoldbridge agreed with the sentiment, posting: "Man City get Plymouth at home...there needs to be studies on their cup draws over recent years."

Callum @_callumstone said: "City getting Plymouth at home was the most obvious draw to happen wasn’t it?"

Babyyyy... @Cedric_Akiums added: "Of course Man City will face Plymouth in the FA Cup fifth round. Hahahaha. Well overall it was a fair draw for everyone else."

Some found themselves looking on the bright side, with Stuart @Juckylim posting: "A great draw for Plymouth, that'll bring them in some money. I suspect Fulham will fancy their chances at Old Trafford."

Elsewhere, holders Manchester United have been drawn at home to Fulham after beating Leicester 2-1 on Friday (February 7). There was no VAR in operation during the fourth-round ties over the weekend, but the technology will come into play from the next round onwards.

Having won 2-0 at Everton on Saturday (February 8), Bournemouth will face more Premier League opposition with Wolves due at the Vitality Stadium. Brighton, who came from behind to beat Chelsea 2-1, also have another tough assignment as they are away to Carabao Cup finalists Newcastle.

Cardiff, who needed penalties to get past Stoke, are away to Aston Villa – who hung on to knock out Tottenham 2-1 on Sunday. Either Doncaster or Crystal Palace will be at home to Millwall, while the winners of Tuesday’s tie between Exeter and Nottingham Forest will be at home to Ipswich.

There will also be an all-Championship tie in the north-west with Preston due to host Burnley. Games will be played over the first weekend in March.
