The design for a new Graham Carey stadium flag, in honour of one of Plymouth Argyle's most exciting and talented players of recent times, has been revealed.

It is the latest in a series of flags which the fans' group PAFC Displays will have come up with but this one will have special significance. The design, which is the work of James Curno, will be used on merchandise items to raise funds for Carey's partner, Rachel, in her fight against breast cancer.

The new flag will be three metres high by two metres wide, the same as all the other current Argyle player and legends' stadium wavers which are on display at each Home Park matchday and have been designed by Curno.

The hope is it might make its debut when the Pilgrims take on West Bromwich Albion in the Championship this Saturday, and then also be available for the Emirates FA Cup fourth round tie against Premier League leaders Liverpool on Sunday, February 9.

PAFC Displays said in a post on their website: "Graham Carey has always been a fighter on the field, and now we are rallying behind his partner, Rachel, in her fight against breast cancer.

"We are donating £5 from every piece of merchandise featuring the Graham Carey design to Rachel’s GoFundMe campaign. These funds will directly support her treatment and recovery journey. Together, we can show the same strength and unity off the pitch that Graham brought to every match he played in green and white.

"The Graham Carey stadium flag design will be available across various merchandise items, from T-shirts to mini flags and posters. Not only will you own a piece of Argyle history, but you will also be contributing to a cause that matters deeply to the Carey family and the Argyle community.

"If you would like to go the extra mile and donate directly to Rachel’s GoFundMe page, you can do so here: To Help Rachel Beat Breast Cancer.

"Let’s come together as the Green Army to show our love and support for Graham, Rachel, and their family. By standing together, we can make a real difference in this fight. Thank you for your generosity and for continuing to embody the true spirit of Plymouth Argyle—on and off the pitch."

Carey, 35, currently plays for St Johnstone in the Scottish Premiership. He made a total of 186 starts and 11 substitute appearances for Argyle between 2015 and 2019 and scored 49 goals, many of them spectacular ones, and was a key part of the 2016/17 League Two promotion-winning team.
