Plymouth Argyle vs Liverpool: The match officials for FA Cup tie
Referee Sam Barrott will take charge of a game involving Liverpool for the third time this season when the Reds play Plymouth Argyle in the Emirates FA Cup fourth round at Home Park on Sunday.
He has previously refereed Liverpool's away Premier League wins against Southampton (3-2) in November and Tottenham Hotspur (6-3) just before Christmas. Overall, Barrott has shown 82 yellow cards in 18 matches this term and has not sent-off anyone.
His last visit to Home Park was for Argyle's 2-1 Championship victory over Stoke City in December 2023 when Adam Randell scored deep into added time for the Pilgrims.

Barrott has had a rapid rise up the refereeing ranks. He was promoted from the National League to the EFL list of officials for the start of the 2020/21 season and took charge of Argyle's 5-1 away League One defeat against Fleetwood Town that November, when he sent-off Pilgrims' defender Niall Canavan in the closing stages.
He was promoted to the Select Group 2 list of officials in 2023 and then to the Premier League ranks for the start of this season. He also became a FIFA international referee in December. By coincidence, Barrott also took charge of Liverpool's FA Cup fourth round tie last term when they defeated Norwich City 5-2 at Anfield.
The fourth official at Home Park on Sunday will be Sam Allison, who was the referee for Argyle's 1-1 Championship draw with Oxford United on January 14, as well as their 1-0 defeat away to Millwall in October. The assistant referees for the FA Cup fourth round clash, which will be televised live on ITV1, will be Timothy Wood and Wade Smith.
