Plymouth Argyle vs Liverpool: Reds 'best in the world' says Miron Muslic
Plymouth Argyle's fight for Championship survival is not far from the mind of Miron Muslic even ahead of the high-profile Emirates FA Cup fourth round clash against Liverpool at Home Park on Sunday afternoon.
Anticipation is high among the Green Army, especially the lucky ones with tickets for the sold-out tie. It has been the talk of the city all week. Muslic has called the Premier League leaders and Carabao Cup finalists as 'the best team in the world' and has described playing them as 'a beautiful challenge'.
However, while the FA Cup clash is a great opportunity to take on mighty Liverpool, Muslic is very mindful of the fact the relegation-threatened Pilgrims have an important Championship match against Millwall at the Theatre of Greens next Wednesday and 'the right balance' has to be found between the two games.

Liverpool booked their place in the Carabao Cup final with a 4-0 semi-final second leg victory over Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield last night, for a 4-1 aggregate success overall.
While the team that their Dutch boss Arne Slot selects to play Argyle is unlikely to be as strong as it was against an outclassed Spurs, it will still contain world-class talent such is the strength in depth of their squad.
Muslic said: "A beautiful challenge in front of us. I think a day to enjoy for us as Argyle. A day to enjoy also for the Green Army. It's not usual you have the best team in the world, and they are if you can dominate the Premier League like they are doing, and if you can dominate the Champions League like they are doing.
"Then you know this is world class. The best team in the world is coming so it's a day we are very much looking forward to, we want to enjoy, we want of course to challenge them and for us as staff it's important also to keep the right balance because three days later it's a massive game coming up for us.
"So I can understand the city is going crazy a little bit, the fans are going crazy a little bit, and they are very much looking forward to it. I can understand the players are looking forward to feel how it is to be out on the pitch and facing a direct world class opponent. That's good, that's nice, but we just need to find the right balance also to be there Wednesday and we will."
While picking up Championship points has to be Argyle's priority, Muslic wants his side to make it as difficult as possible for Liverpool at what is bound to be a noisy and partisan Home Park.
"It's the FA Cup, it's a home game and it's Liverpool," he said. "Regardless how much I try to hide it a little bit, to put the spotlight on the big challenge three days afterwards, it's omnipresent, and it's okay.
"It's a day we are very much looking forward to, it's a game simply to enjoy for all of us, and to be brave and make it as hard as possible for them, and then just a couple of days later to go fully fully again."
Muslic was appointed as Argyle head coach the day before they went to Premier League club Brentford and beat them 1-0 in the FA Cup third round. The Austrian watched from the stands at the Gtech Community Stadium so the clash against Liverpool will be his first game in the competition.
"I'm completely aware of the tradition of the FA Cup," he said. "I'm following the Premier League for the last 25, 30 years and you follow the FA Cup. I also remember some finals, some goal scorers, some beautiful goals. So I know it's very big. It's the biggest cup in the world and we have the opportunity to have Liverpool in Home Park. It's a day to enjoy."
He added: "The underdog - and we are clearly the underdog in this case - has always a chance. We want to enjoy this, we want to go fully and then let's see where we are after 90 minutes."
It is difficult to predict what Liverpool's team will be, given the fact they played Tottenham last night, the FA Cup clash at Home Park is coming around so soon and the Premier League leaders are then away to Everton in a Merseyside derby next Wednesday.
"That doesn't bother me for a second because regardless of the line-up they will be world class and international players from the GK (goalkeeper) until the number nine," said Muslic.
The Pilgrims' boss was full of praise for the job done by Slot after leaving Dutch club Feyenoord last summer to take over from the very successful and popular Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool.
"I think he had the biggest task in world football if you have to replace Jurgen Klopp after his legacy in Liverpool," said Muslic. "These are massive footsteps and almost impossible to reach, or to put the bar above that, and Slot did exactly this.
"He made Liverpool better. These are marginal gains we are speaking about. This team is world class anyway with Jurgen Klopp but he took the next step, he found the next gear so he's a coach I really admire.
"He's a coach I try to learn from. When I see them playing I try to understand what they are doing, what they are preparing. That's why I travelled two times to Rotterdam in my period in Brugge because it's just around the corner to see Slot's Feyenoord."
Muslic added: "He's a complete coach because back in Feyenoord, back in Alkmaar, and what you see now in Liverpool, they are dominating every phase of the game and that's the most difficult, most challenging part.
"(Manchester) City can do this. Bayern (Munich) can do this. Real Madrid maybe can do this, and that's it. They are dominant with the ball, they are dominant without the ball, they are dominant in both transitions, and they are ready to grab you on every set piece, defensively and also offensively. It's world class."
