Popular NHS 10k run returning to York Racecourse this spring
A popular NHS running event is set to return this spring.
The Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust (TEWV) has announced the TEWV 10k will take place on April 19, 2025, at the Knavesmire, York Racecourse.
It is open to runners of all abilities and features a flat course.
The inaugural TEWV 10k in 2024 was the first event of its kind from the mental health, learning disability, and autism NHS trust, and saw hundreds of people take part, raising money for various causes.
In addition to the 10k, organisers have announced a new event, the TEWV 5k, which will take place at HMP Kirklevington Grange Prison in Stockton-on-Tees on March 9, 2025.
This offers participants a shorter distance over a flat course, starting outside the prison and consisting of three laps.
Emma Brookshaw, a modern matron at the trust and organiser of the event, said: "The TEWV 10k received a really positive response, with some participants saying that they found a love of running after taking part.
"In 2025, we wanted to expand our offer to include a shorter distance and a new location, ideal for new runners or those looking for something a little different."
