Leeds United's title credentials will come under the microscope when they travel to Derby County tomorrow night. The Rams, managed by Paul Warne, enter the clash on the back of a fine Boxing Day win over play-off hopefuls West Bromwich Albion.

And Warne's team have been strong in their own backyard this season. They have suffered just three defeats in 11 matches.

"I am respectful because I rate Paul Warne as a coach," said United manager Daniel Farke. "I rate their home performances and they got another important, impressive win on Boxing Day. We know we have to be at our very best in order to give ourselves a chance to win points. There will be lots of intensity but we also know we will be in good shape and are on a good run.

"We travel there with confidence and we want to be ourselves on the pitch and we want to win as many points as possible in another difficult away challenge."

Farke is blessed to have goals throughout his team and suggested there will be changes to his starting XI in the wake of their 2-0 win at Stoke City. Given the quick turnaround and manic festive schedule, Farke admits he is likely to make some "late decisions" on some players. Sam Byram and Ethan Ampadu were namechecked after the clash at the bet365 Stadium.

With Junior Firpo and Max Wober both sidelined by injury and Isaac Schmidt still adapting to the rigours of the Championship, Farke is low on options at left-back. The likelihood is Byram will keep his place on the left side of the defence.

A change is on the cards in central midfield. Japan international Ao Tanaka is in line for a recall. Ampadu has started the past two matches since returning from injury and Farke will be keen to manage his workload as the club captain is a key component of the side. Farke has described Ampadu as their "best player" and is desperate to keep him fit for the remainder of the campaign to boost their hopes of securing a Premier League return.

Wingers Daniel James and Manor Solomon ran the Stoke defence ragged. James is in the form of his life and has formed a strong partnership down the right flank with Jayden Bogle. He retains his place but Wilfried Gnonto could replace Solomon down the left wing to freshen things up.

Brenden Aaronson has established himself as a first team regular under Farke. The attacking midfielder is poised to line up in the No 10 position behind top-scorer Joel Piroe.

Predicted United XI to face Derby (4-2-3-1): Meslier; Bogle, Rodon, Struijk, Byram; Tanaka, Rothwell; James, Aaronson, Gnonto; Piroe.
