Premier League make huge Michael Oliver referee decision amid Arsenal red card controversy
Darren England and Michael Oliver will officiate Premier League games this weekend following controversy during Arsenal's win over Wolves.
Riccardo Calafiori's late winner was overshadowed by a controversial red card for Myles Lewis-Skelly in the first-half. The 18-year-old was adjudged to have committed serious foul play as he tripped Matt Doherty with the Republic of Ireland international looking to counter-attack.
Opinions have been split on the decision since Lewis-Skelly was sent off by Oliver, while England - who was in the VAR hub in Stockley Park - didn't intervene. The Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL) issued a statement condemning the abuse directed towards Oliver in light of the decision that affected the Gunners.

While neither official involved in the controversy at Molineux will officiate Arsenal's title showdown with Manchester City, Oliver will be in charge of Ipswich Town's clash with Southampton. He has also been allocated the rescheduled Merseyside derby fixture at Goodison Park on February 12.
Meanwhile, England will be in charge of Liverpool's trip to Bournemouth. The Anfield club travel to the in-form Cherries in a game that will be monitored by Arsenal fans with Arne Slot's side currently sitting six points clear at the top of the Premier League.
Peter Bankes will be in charge of the Gunners' encounter with the reigning champions with Paul Tierney on VAR. Arsenal will be hoping to get one over on their title rivals from the previous two years, in order to close the gap to Liverpool.
