Chelsea’s decision over Armando Broja’s loan deal with Everton could impact a potential transfer for Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall in the final days of the window.

Broja is currently on loan with the Toffees, but looks set to miss the majority of the remainder of the season through injury. The striker suffered the set-back in the FA Cup clash against Peterborough United earlier this month.

It has been reported that Everton have been in talks with Chelsea over potentially cancelling the loan deal and sending him back to Stamford Bridge. It was however reported by the Athletic that it was something that the Blues were not keen to do.

It now seems that a decision has been made by the striker. Speaking on Sky Sports’ The Transfer Show, journalist Kaveh Solhekol said: “David Moyes will be relieved, Armando Broja will not be going anywhere as Chelsea are now expected to honour the duration of his loan deal until the end of the season.”

Should that be the case, then a Premier League rule blocks Everton from signing another Chelsea player on a temporary deal. Clubs are not permitted to have more than one player on loan from another Premier League club.

The Toffees have been linked with an interest in both Dewsbury-Hall and Carney Chukwuemeka in the final days of the window. But they would now have to pursue permanent deals should they wish to sign them.

Fellow Premier League side West Ham United have also been linked with an interest in both players. Earlier in the month, Dewsbury-Hall was linked with an emotional return to former club Leicester City on loan.

However, another Premier League rule could now also block that move. Clubs are not allowed more than two players on loan from other Premier League clubs, with Leicester currently having Facundo Bounanotte on loan from Brighton and Odsonne Edouard from Crystal Palace.

Dewsbury-Hall has struggled for game time since his move from Leicester in the summer. His only Premier League start for Chelsea came in the 3-1 win over Wolves a couple of weeks ago, he was however back as an unused substitute in last week’s loss against Manchester City.
