Premier League table 2024-25: Latest standings, fixtures and results
Liverpool enjoyed a positive week at the top of the Premier League table despite not being able to kick a ball in anger.
The Reds, who saw their lead cut to seven points following Wednesday’s 3-3 draw with Newcastle, were due to kick off the action on Saturday but saw the final Merseyside derby at Everton’s Goodison Park postponed due to Storm Darragh hitting the UK.
Manchester City, however, could not take advantage when they were held to a 2-2 draw at Crystal Palace. Brentford, meanwhile, recorded an impressive 4-2 win at home to Newcastle.
Later that day, Manchester United lost 3-2 to Nottingham Forest on a concerning day for Ruben Amorim.
On Sunday, Liverpool’s main title rivals - Arsenal and Chelsea - were in London derby action and looking to cut their gap to the Reds.
The Gunners were at Fulham but left with just a point following a 1-1 draw after Bukayo Saka’s last-minute winner was ruled out for offside. Chelsea, at Tottenham, appeared to be heading for similar frustration after going 2-0 down in north London, only to roar back for a 4-3 win. The Blues are now four points off Liverpool.
The action wraps up with a huge game between West Ham and Wolves, with Hammers boss Julen Lopetegui under pressure ahead of the visit of his former club.
