Premier League table without VAR as Arsenal and Liverpool face harsh title race reality
It has been revealed where Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur would place in the Premier League without intervention from Video Assistant Referee technology. Referees have been heavily scrutinised this season, with incorrect refereeing decisions often stealing the limelight.
In fact, it didn't take long before Howard Webb – the Chief Refereeing Officer for PGMOL – to issue a statement admitting to 'significant human error'. At the end of September, just four games into the campaign, Luis Diaz was infamously deemed offside during Spurs' clash against Liverpool.
Bizarrely, neither Simon Hooper or Darren England – the VAR lead for the game – corrected their mistake, igniting an all-mighty outrage on social media. Despite apologising, it proved to be the first of many controversial and incorrect decisions from officials this season.
In the meantime, Arsenal have been embroiled in a title race while Chelsea and Tottenham have been battling it out for European football. So, with that being said, football.london has looked at what the Premier League table would look like with VAR.
20th – Sheffield United
13 points without VAR.

So...
Aston Villa and Fulham would benefit more than any other team in the Premier League without VAR, whereas Wolves, Liverpool, West Ham and Sheffield United have suffered most from some poor officiating.
Not much separates Chelsea, Newcastle and Tottenham in the race for Europa League qualification, with or without VAR. Manchester United, however, would have lost all hope of European football a while ago, sitting on just 52 points in eighth.
