RYAN Giles has been named on the bench for Middlesbrough at Preston, with Michael Carrick naming an unchanged starting XI after the midweek win over West Brom.

That means Emmanuel Latte Lath again leads the line at Deepdale and Neto Borges keeps his place at left-back despite this week's arrival of Giles.

Morgan Whittaker and George Edmundson weren't signed in time to feature.

Seny Dieng is absent from the squad after undergoing surgery on an injury this week. He posted a picture on his Instagram on Friday night. Michael Carrick will provide more details on Dieng's injury after the game.

Shea Connor is the back-up keeper at Deepdale.
