I presume Mohamed Salah will leave Liverpool - it makes no sense to announce Arne Slot now

The new manager hasn’t been announced yet and it makes sense to wait until after Jurgen Klopp’s final game now. Am I excited about him joining? I wouldn’t say that’s the word, no.

Am I concerned? No, because we’ve got the team is there. I don’t really know what I am, I don’t know where I am with it all.

But Jurgen has turned us around again. This time last year we were in disarray, struggling to get into the Europa League and it was a nightmare of a season.

But this year, he’s won us a trophy, turned it around, and got us Champions League football. Solidified the squad, a younger squad, a vibrant squad. It just needs the final three players to come in, and then maybe a couple go out.

I’m on crutches but I’ll be there at Anfield on Sunday. It’s going to be emotional because of what he’s brought to us. We love him dearly for what he’s done.

It’s become like a relationship with us all, he’s been brilliant. If not for Man City, doing what they have been able to do and being brilliant in every way with a brilliant manager, Jurgen would have won the league another two times at least in his tenure here.

He’s been brilliant and deserves to be celebrated. People will get emotional on Sunday, I’m sure Jurgen will and his staff because they won’t see Liverpool again. But we should embrace it, be there and thank him for what he’s given us.

For the happy times he’s given us, he’s been phenomenal. I love Bill Shankly, he’s my favourite manager of all time. Jurgen is the only one who comes close to him.

Alisson can’t be sold, fresh start for Nunez, but Thiago frustration lingers

It’s a new start, a new manager, and a new season. Next season is a new start, so see what happens.

It was good to see a good finish from Darwin Nunez against Villa, even if he was slightly offside. Through on goal, one-on-one, one touch, bang, it’s in the back of the net, that’s the way you finish.

It’s a new start for him next year and things can change, things can change in football overnight. He can finish but he’s had a poor season, and his finishing has hampered him.

I think it even started when he went around the goalkeeper and hit the post against Toulouse. It just seems to be in his head a little bit. Let’s just hope he can snap out of it.

You never know, you don’t just become a bad player overnight. See what happens and the new manager. A new style of play might suit him, you just don’t know. It’s up to the manager when he comes in.

You can’t be selling Alisson Becker though. No, no, no, no. I’ve seen he’s been linked with Saudi clubs but you can’t do that.

It would be too many, too many changes, and you don’t want too many. You don’t want five, six or seven going out, and not with a new manager coming in.

He’s the best goalkeeper in the world. We have to keep him. We don’t need the money. The money will come in if Mohamed Salah goes, I’m pretty sure about that.

And there’s other players on the periphery who they can sell, if they don’t fit the bill for the new manager. Matip will probably leave and be off the wage-bill. And then you’re getting Thiago off the wage-bill too.

We always knew he was a tremendous player, but the injuries. Too many injuries. It’s so frustrating, what’s happened with him.

It’s just a shame because as a footballer, you speak to the old ex-players and he’s an old-fashioned brilliant player, but we just haven’t seen enough of him. He’s flickered out.

It’s like a light just slowly going out over his time at Liverpool. It’s just a shame because he had so much ability.

I’d sign Bowen to replace Salah

There will be big scope for the manager to come in and put his stamp on the team and on the squad.

Do we need a new striker? I presume, and it’s only me presuming, that the club will have to let Mohamed Salah go because of financial reasons.

And if they do, I’d just go and get Jarrod Bowen. I’ve said it before, Bowen, if you look at the players out there. If you can get him that is, with all due respect to West Ham.

We have to see if he’s available, and everyone is available at the right price. The likes of Bowen, even Ollie Watkins, they are the types of players forward-wise if Mo goes that we have to be looking at.

I don’t think we could get Watkins because Villa are pretty much in the Champions League now. They’re going to keep their players, but they’re two players who would fit the bill for me.
