NEWPORT County AFC youngsters Nelson Sanca and Jac Norris have been sent out to get experience of senior football in the Cymru Premier.

The duo have joined Briton Ferry Llansawel for the rest of the campaign and will try to help them avoid the drop.

Centre-back Sanca and midfielder Norris both got a taste of League Two at the end of last season because of injuries and signed their first professional contracts in the summer.

Sanca featured against Port Vale in League Two and Cheltenham in the EFL Trophy earlier in the current campaign but Norris is yet to add to his three outings off the bench.

After featuring prominently for the Exiles’ academy, the teenagers will take their next steps of their development out west.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for both Jac and Nelson to gain valuable senior-level experience,” said academy manager, Luke Hussey.

“Briton Ferry Llansawel AFC will provide a competitive environment, which is exactly what these players need to continue their development.

“Playing in a first-team setting will challenge them to adapt to the physical and mental demands of senior football. We are looking forward to working with Briton Ferry to monitor both their progress.”

The Ferry, who won Cymru South last season, are scheduled to take on third-placed Haverfordwest this weekend.
