Marcus Rashford revealed he wants a new challenge away from Manchester United in a bombshell interview on Tuesday evening.

After he was left out of the United squad for the Manchester derby win over City on Sunday, the academy graduate told Henry Winter in an interview: "If I know that a situation is already bad, I'm not going to make it worse. I've seen how other players have left in the past and I don't want to be that person.

"When I leave, I will make a statement, and it will be from me. When I leave, it is going to be 'no hard feelings'. You are not going to have any negative comments from me about Manchester United - that's me as a person.

"I'm ready for a new challenge and the next steps."

Ruben Amorim has said he wants Rashford to stay at United in his pre-match press conference ahead of Thursday's clash with Tottenham Hotspur but all roads now appear to be leading towards the England international's exit from Old Trafford.

PSG currently lead the betting as the 27-year-old's most likely destination, given Les Parisiens have spoken to Rashford's representatives about a move in the past.

And interestingly, when Rashford's contract was running down during the 2022/23 season, PSG Owner Nasser Al-Khelaifi confirmed in an interview with Sky Sports that he would love to sign Rashford on a free transfer.

"He's another player that is really amazing," Al-Khelaifi said of Rashford. "And for free? To have Rashford for free, every club would run after him, definitely.

"We're not hiding it, we spoke before and… interest. But the moment was not a good moment for both sides. Maybe summer, why not?

"Today, if he's a free agent of course we can talk to him directly but we are not going to talk to him now. Let him focus on the World Cup. Then after, in January, hopefully, if we're interested we will talk to him."

Rashford ultimately ended up signing a new contract at United off the back of scoring 30 goals in all competitions that season. While any move now would obviously not be a free transfer, Al-Khelaifi is on record with his public admiration of the player.

United would command a hefty fee for a player who signed a huge contract less than two years ago and any sale would be classed as 'pure profit' against their profit and sustainability obligations, given Rashford is an academy graduate.

Rashford wants out and PSG have already let United know their transfer stance. It seems like the perfect place to start the search for a suitor.
