Rachel Platten Performs ‘Fight Song’ at Los Angeles Rams Game, Sending Support Amid Ongoing Fires — Watch

As wildfires continue to burn across Los Angeles, destroying homes and displacing countless citizens, one of the city’s beloved football teams is rallying support for its people in their time of need.

Monday’s playoff game between the L.A. Rams and the Minnesota Vikings — which the NFL moved from SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif., to State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Ariz. in response to the fires — opened with a special performance of Rachel Platten’s inspirational anthem “Fight Song.” An enormous banner reading “L.A. Together” was unveiled on the sideline as she sang.

Also on hand to deliver a special message was retired NFL superstar Andrew Whitworth, who spent five seasons playing for the Rams between 2017 and 2022.

Members of the Rams, including players and coaches, could be seen wearing team-themed Los Angeles Fire Department hats and shirts; proceeds from this new merchandise, which is available for purchase both at the stadium and online, will reportedly go to support the American Red Cross and the LAFD Foundation. Among other humanitarian efforts, jerseys and balls from tonight’s game will be auctioned on NFL Auction, with proceeds going to the Red Cross.

“The safety of the Los Angeles community is the top priority of the Rams, and the organization’s thoughts are with everyone affected by the fires in the area,” the Rams said in a statement ahead of Monday’s game. “The team is grateful for the tireless efforts of first responders who continue to protect the city and community as well as individuals who continue to help neighbors in need.”
