Radnor hold promotion-chasing Kerry at draw at The Bypass
RADNOR Valley were forced to share the spoils with promotion-chasing Kerry in their final Lock Stock Ardal North East fixture of the year following a 2-2 draw at The Bypass.
The visitors broke the deadlock in the fourth minute when captain Barry Bellis swept home a Neil Mitchell cross from the right past Trevor Gummer in the Goats' goal.
The New Radnor men were back on level terms seven minutes later when Jack Clarke squared the ball across the penalty area for Joey Price to find the back of the net.
The hosts took the lead for the first time on the half-hour mark when Clarke ran on a well-timed Elliot Morris pass before sliding the ball past an advancing Ryan Andrew in the Kerry goal.
The Lambs were not behind for long as they equalised within 60 seconds of the restart when Luke Mumford latched on to a Ben Hendleman through ball before rounding Gummer to find the back of the net.
Former Rhosgoch Rangers forward Geraint Lloyd could have put the Goats ahead in first-half stoppage-time but directed Joey Price's inviting cross from the left wide of the far post.
Roles were reversed with six minutes of the match remaining when Lloyd played a Josh Hall free-kick into the path of Price, but the Radnor talisman was unable to keep his effort under the crossbar and the Goats had to content themselves with a draw in their last outing of 2024.
