As Manchester United hope to sign an attacker this winter, Randal Kolo Muani is perhaps proving that this Old Trafford transfer decision has come a matter of weeks late.

With deadline day on Monday fast approaching, Ruben Amorim seeks out fresh attacking talent to further bolster his United squad. With Marcus Rashford set to leave, Mathys Tel and Christopher Nkunku are under consideration.

The Bayern Munich forward Tel has informed his club of his intention to depart and already rejected Tottenham Hotspur whilst remaining open to United. Chelsea attacker Nkunku continues to struggle for minutes in London and could leave on loan in the hours that remain.

But available just weeks ago was Kolo Muani - another option that the Manchester Evening News reported was on the club's radar. With other business to attend to, Juventus snapped up the Frenchman for a short-term loan from Paris Saint-Germain.

He had struggled there with 11 goals in 54 appearances across 18 months. Kolo Muani had actually been considered at the time he completed his £76.4m switch to the French capital in summer 2023, but Erik ten Hag ended up signing Rasmus Hojlund instead.

That would have been on the back of 29 goal contributions the season prior for Eintracht Frankfurt. Now the striker is in Serie A and made the dream start, proving to himself, PSG and maybe even those that missed out when he has become available that his career is far from over.

It took only 43 minutes into his debut to strike against league leaders Napoli, although Juve would fall to a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Romelu Lukaku. On Sunday, a second-half brace with goals scored within three minutes of one another kickstarted his new club's comeback victory over Empoli and earned him the man of the match award.

"It's incredible to be here, we wanted to win the match at the Stadium in front of our fans, we are happy to have done it. Now the goal is to continue winning," he told DAZN.

If Kolo Muani continues in the same vein of form United may want to take notice, but they may have to consider such a possibility when conducting January business too. The 26-year-old reportedly does not have an optional or obligatory buy clause in his loan deal in Italy, therefore there is a strong chance he could become available once the summer window re-opens.
