Rangers boss gives honest verdict on Manchester United defeat
Rangers manager Philippe Clement said he felt his team "deserved more" after they were beaten 2-1 by Manchester United in the Europa League at Old Trafford on Thursday night.
Bruno Fernandes scored a dramatic 92nd-minute winner for United after connecting with Lisandro Martinez's pinpoint cross to secure a vitally important three points.
Rangers had pulled themselves level just four minutes earlier when Cyriel Dessers fired a brilliant finish into the bottom corner, cancelling out Jack Butland's own-goal that had given United the lead seven minutes after half-time.

Rangers were without a cluster of senior players at Old Trafford, meaning Clement had no choice but to introduce several youngsters during the second half. Despite being light on experience, the Belgian felt his side would have been worthy of a point.
"It is easy to go behind 1-0 to Manchester United and to lose belief when you have so many young players on the pitch who don't have experience at this level," Clement told RangersTV.
"We kept going and scored a very good goal, it was a great finish from Cyriel, but it is a pity we got a sucker punch at the end as the team deserved more and a draw would have been a fair result."
To the Gers' credit, they recorded almost as many shots as United did in the second half, registering six to the Reds' eight, and created two big chances. Clement was pleased with his side's application after conceding an unfortunate opener.
He added: "We created chances after going behind, you can't ask more from them and they put in a great effort, and it is a pity we never got our rewards. It would have given them a totally different feeling right now.
"It was a sucker punch at the end, and it is something we can avoid. We had done well in the first half when we made changes and Manchester United came into the game.
"In the first half we had the best chances, I am disappointed by the result, but I can't ask for more effort. We need to dig in and prepare for Sunday against Dundee United, that's the focus now."
