Rangers fans face a late scramble for tickets after Nice abruptly cancelled some home end briefs less than 24 hours before the Europa League showdown in France.

Last night, screenshots emerged on social media of the Ligue 1 club's email to unlucky supporters who purchased tickets in the home end of the 36,000-capacity Allianz Riviera. The communication from Nice informs those affected that "due to circumstances beyond the club's control", their tickets have been cancelled and a full refund will be issued.

Thousands of Rangers fans have made the journey to the south of France but as always tends to be the case, the demand for tickets outweighs the supply, forcing some punters to chance their luck in the home end. However, Gers supporters without away end tickets will now be denied entry to the stadium tonight.

The email reads: "We would like to inform you that due to circumstances beyond the club's control, and taking into account various factors including your position within the stadium, OGC Nice is forced to cancel your reservation for Thursday evening's match.

"Your ticket will be automatically refunded in full as soon as possible. We understand your disappointment and apologise for this inconvenience. We would like to stress that access to the match will unfortunately not be possible with the cancelled ticket, and that OGC Nice cannot be held responsible in this respect. Thank you for your understanding."
