The Rangers board have reportedly held crisis talks over Philippe Clement amid recent pressure from supporters.

But they'll have to sack him outright to get rid with claims the boss is intent on battling for his position and won't walk away. Fans have voiced their discontent at Clement's management recently after falling 15 points behind rivals Celtic, failing to capitalise on a rare win over the Hoops at the turn of the year. 'Clement, get to f***' was heard coming from the Rangers end during their draw with Dundee at Dens while both the Union Bears and the Rangers Supporters Association released statements today condemning the manager and the board.

Now the Scottish Sun report that, while the board hadn't planned to consider Clement's position, the fuming reaction from fans has 'stung' decision-makers who have since held talks over his future. But it's expected that the Belgian won't walk away from his position and that could in turn force them into a difficult, and expensive, decision to sack him.

Clement's contract runs until 2028 after signing an extension in the summer and has made it clear he plans to hang around for the long haul. He'll be in the dugout against St Johnstone on Sunday but there are growing fears that could be his last game, particularly if it doesn't go to plan.
