St Johnstone's need for points couldn't be more pressing as they travel to Ibrox.

Simo Valakari's appointment has brought a better style of football to the Fair City, but it's not yielded results - and Saints are beginning to look cut adrift at the foot of the Premiership table as their relegation rivals start to find form. They could find themselves 10 points from safety if they leave Ibrox empty-handed with their 14 season stay at Scottish football's top table looking increasingly likely to be coming to an end.

It is far from rosy at Rangers too, after more away day woes for Philippe Clement's troubled side. They have failed to kick on after blowing away Celtic in the January 2 derby, dropping points against Hibs and Dundee - with Clement once again a man facing serious scrutiny from the Light Blues support. At home they have been almost flawless however, dropping points just once all season in a draw with Dundee United in November - and Clement will know anything other than three points would see the pressure on him intensify further.

St Johnstone's Sam McClelland is continuing to work his way back from an Achilles tendon injury, while Uche Ikpeazu is still unavailable. Jason Holt returns however after serving his one-game ban.
