Rayan Cherki transfer stance emerges as Liverpool star 'wanted' by Premier League club
The wait goes on for Liverpool to complete their first signing of the January transfer window. Federico Chiesa was the only new addition to the squad last summer, and it remains to be seen if any further signings will be made before next week's deadline.
Arne Slot has previously been asked about the prospect of Liverpool going into the transfer market before the window closes. The Reds have until 11pm on Monday to conclude their business and are running out of time to be able to strengthen their squad.
Liverpool are currently top of the Premier League table and have a six-point lead over second-placed Arsenal. The Reds will now prepare to face Bournemouth in the top flight clash on the south coast this weekend.

Here, the ECHO assesses some of the latest Liverpool transfer news and speculation that has emerged over the last 24 hours.
Liverpool are reportedly still in the race to sign Lyon star Rayan Cherki. Slot's side have previously been credited with an interest in signing Cherki, with the rumours emerging before the January window opened.
According to Caught Offside, Liverpool continue to monitor Cherki's future at Lyon with a view to potentially signing the playmaker in the days or months ahead. It has been reported, though, that they will face competition from Manchester United and Tottenham for Cherki's signature.
Lyon are reported to value Cherki at around €22million (£18.4million), with Liverpool apparently approaching the Ligue 1 club over a potential move. It has been suggested, though, that if the Reds are to sign Cherki, it may have to wait until the summer.
Elsewhere, Liverpool midfielder Tyler Morton is being linked with a late January move away from Anfield. The 22-year-old has had limited game time this term but did star in the Champions League defeat to PSV Eindhoven on Wednesday night.
According to talkSPORT, West Ham have expressed an interest in signing Morton before the transfer window closes on Monday. The report claims that the Hammers are considering an offer to try and sign the young midfielder, although it has not been stated if this would be on a loan or permanent deal.
Morton has made just five appearances for Liverpool this season, but is yet to feature in the Premier League. The midfielder has been linked with a move away from Anfield in search of regular game time having spent the previous two seasons on loan at Hull City and Blackburn Rovers.
