Reading boss Noel Hunt has issued an update on six injured first-team regulars ahead of Saturday's FA Cup clash with Burnley.

Scott Parker's Clarets are riding high in the Championship, chasing an immediate return to the Premier League, but it remains to be seen how seriously they take the cup.

After knocking out Fleetwood Town and Harborough Town, the Royals host Burnley in a good vein of form themselves, sitting sixth in League One after a run of three wins and a draw in four matches over the festive period.

What's more impressive is that this was done with an injury list including eight first-team regulars, with Ben Elliott still months away.

While a few are returning, none are expected to start on Saturday at the SCL Stadium.

Speaking ahead of the third round tie, Hunt said: "Kelvin E [Ehibhatiomhan] has been on the grass- he took part in training again today. Himself, Jeriel [Dorsett] and Yids [Andy Yiadom], so that’s really positive. Kelvin E and Yids have been out a lot long than Jeriel so they will need a longer build-up to get up to speed.

"Adrian [Akande] is back on the grass and working with the physios. Mikey [Michael Craig] is back on the grass and he part-trained today so that’s good. Mamadi [Camara] is a few weeks away and he has a bit of an illness, so he hasn’t been in for the last couple of days."

Burnley themselves are without key stars, with the likes of Hannibal Mejbri, Jordan Beyer and Nathan Redmond out.
