Returning injured Reading striker Kelvin Ehibhatiomhan believes the side are capable of 'more than just the top six' despite suffering a disappointing 3-1 defeat to Stockport County on Saturday.

The 21-year-old came off the bench for the final 30 minutes on Saturday after missing over two months with a hip injury sustained in the reverse fixture at Stockport, a 4-1 defeat at Edgeley Park.

A fan favourite from the Academy, Ehibhatiomhan has two goals in 13 League One appearances to date, 15 goals in 69 Royals appearances.

Speaking after Saturday's defeat, which saw the Hatters leapfrog Reading into the play-off places, the striker said: "I think we are capable of more than just the top six, but we have to pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off and go again next Saturday."

Missing 18 matches in total, it is the first long-term injury sustained by the youngster.

"It's been really frustrating. I’ve had to be patient and respect the injury I’ve got but we’ve done the work and now I’m back on the pitch.

"The lads have done great. It’s been a collective effort, and we are where we are because we work hard. Long may that continue."
