Reading confirm date for visit of promotion-chasing Wrexham and return of club legend
Reading have confirmed the date for the visit of League One promotion chasers Wrexham.
The Red Dragons, sat third in the table and eyeing three successive promotions, were due to visit the SCL Stadium on January 11 however it was rearranged due to the Royals' progress into the FA Cup third round.
Now, the club have confirmed that the Welsh outfit will head to Berkshire on Tuesday, March 11, in between a trip to Crawley Town on March 8 and a home match with Shrewsbury Town, which falls on an international break.
Wrexham last visited the stadium in 2001 as under 9,000 saw Alan Pardew's Reading win 2-0.
Last winning in Reading in 1994, the Royals have won 16 and lost 10 of the 30 meetings stretching back to 1934.
Not just a reunion for the two club's, it is the return of club legend Phil Parkinson.
A no-nonsense midfielder with over 350 appearances for the club under his belt between 1992 and 2003, Parkinson has a banner up in the ground and a chant sung by supporters.
With over 1,000 management games under his belt, Parkinson has visited the club with the likes of Bradford City and Bolton Wanderers.
He last returned in 2019 as Bolton won 1-0 in the Championship.
Wrexham beat the Royals 3-0 at the Racecourse Ground in August.
