Reading have again named only 11 senior players in their EFL squad, which will carry through for the remainder of the season.

Following the close of the winter window, the Royals only technically lost striker Sam Smith, with Tyler Bindon returning on loan for the rest of the campaign from Nottingham Forest.

Experienced forward Billy Bodin came in to replace Wrexham-bound Smith, leaving Noel Hunt's squad no worse off, at least in terms of bodies.

Clubs are asked to submit a maximum of 22 in-squad players to the league after every transfer window, which does not include goalkeepers or players under 21 at the start of the year.

The Royals started this time last year with 11 senior players, a figure which has remained the same for this window.

28 players have been named Under-21, which includes the likes of Charlie Savage, Tyler Bindon and Kelvin Ehibhatiomhan.

The 11 senior players listed are:

  • Chem Campbell

  • Harlee Dean

  • Jeriel Dorsett

  • Ben Elliott

  • Harvey Knibbs

  • Amadou Mbengue

  • Tivonge Rushesha

  • Billy Bodin

  • Charlie Wellens

  • Lewis Wing

  • Andy Yiadom

Meanwhile, those younger players are:

  • Kelvin Abrefa

  • Adrian Akande

  • Joseph Barough

  • Boyd Beacroft

  • Tyler Bindon

  • Coniah Boyce-Clarke

  • Mamadi Camara

  • John Clarke

  • Kiyan Coke-Miles-Smith

  • Michael Craig

  • Kelvin Ehibhatiomhan

  • Jacob Borgnis-Hammond

  • Louie Holzman

  • Jerae Jones

  • Abraham Kanu

  • Tom Norcott

  • Jeremiah Okine-Peters

  • Emmanuel Osho

  • Harrison Rhone

  • Matt Rowley

  • John Ryan

  • Tyler Sackey

  • Charlie Savage

  • Jay Senga

  • Shay Spencer

  • Michael Stickland

  • Basil Tuma

  • Jayden Wareham

For point of comparison, the next nearest for senior players is Blackpool with 17. Mansfield Town are the only club with a full 22-man senior squad, while Birmingham City, Bolton Wanderers, Huddersfield Town, Shrewsbury Town, Stevenage, Wigan Athletic and Wrexham all have 21.

In total, the Royals have 39 players to choose from, not including goalkeepers. Only Bolton (40), Charlton Athletic (41), Huddersfield (42), Wigan (43) and Birmingham (51) have more.

Of those available to Hunt, only 10 are yet to make their league debuts for the club.
