Reading ended a three-match losing run with a tight 1-0 win over Bolton Wanderers, Harvey Knibbs scoring an 89th-minute penalty.

Take a look below at our player ratings.

Joel Pereira, 7: A highly sought-after clean sheet and well deserved from the shot stopper, who had a really impressive display. Made two one-on-one saves and some other crucial interventions to allow the forwards to nick the game in the dying stages.

Michael Craig, 7: One of the best out-field players. Loved cutting in-field and looked very comfortable and strong in there. Possibly his best showing out-of-position in the past 12 months. Made one particularly memorable tackle to prevent another one-versus-one chance.

Harlee Dean, 6: Did what he needed to do, winning his headers and tackles well. Was a leader and constantly talking to those around him. Continuing to do well since returning to the action.

Tyler Bindon, 6: Similar to Dean, looked calm and composed out there. Loved to stride out with the ball and while he had done less of that in recent matches, he was back at it on Saturday.

Andre Garcia, 6: A vast improvement on his below-par showing at Burton Albion on Saturday. A real attacking outlet, particularly early on as the visitors began to take control.

Lewis Wing, 7: Really grew into the game but come the second half the skipper was involved in almost everything. Still wouldn't say he is at the level of last season, albeit sat deeper than previously, but when allowed time and space, he dictates play expertly.

Charlie Savage, 6: Standard Savage performance with the energy, tempo and pressing which we have come to expect. On the day, on what was a poor surface, his finishing was off or he could have had a goal or two himself.

Harvey Knibbs, 6: Similar to Savage, his energy and running continues to stand out among his peers. Calmest man in Berkshire to tuck away the late penalty, the first penalty at home since February 2023.

Chem Campbell, 6: Stood out as one of the Royals' better performers in the first half, the rest of the team upped their standard after the break as the Wolves loanee became quieter.

Jayden Wareham, 6: A difficult task for the forward, having to occupy two big defenders. Huge shoes to fill with Sam Smith's exit but given time to develop, the youngster will be handy for Noel Hunt.

Mamadi Camara, 5: Can't knock the effort or intent but the wide-man was on the periphery for the most-part. Was impressive off the bench on Tuesday so disappointing to see him so quiet on the day.

Substitutes

Kelvin Ehibhatiomhan, 6: Looked much better off the bench than he looked from the start against Burton. Missing Smith's goals, the forward will be crucial in the second half of the season.

Kelvin Abrefa, 6: Good cameo from the young full-back, showing he is very-much knocking on the door for a rare start in the coming weeks.
