Reading Ratings: Tyler Bindon the standout as Royals exit FA Cup to Burnley
Reading exited the FA Cup at the Third Round stage after a 3-1 defeat to Burnley after extra-time.
Lyle Foster opened the scoring for the Clarets but Lewis Wing benefitted from poor goalkeeping to level the tie and take it to extra time.
Running out of steam after the restart, Zian Flemming netted a brace to secure deserved passage into Round Four for Scott Parker's side.
Take a look below at our ratings.
David Button, 5: Did little wrong and made some smart saves but could have done better for Flemming’s extra-time strikes which ultimately made the difference.
Tivonge Rushesha, 6: Given a hard time out wide with experienced wingers on display but did little wrong and has made himself an option in League One going forward.
Tyler Bindon, 8: Looked the best defender on the pitch, oozing quality. Great with the ball at his feet and threw his body in the way of everything. A real standout performance against the likes of Jay Rodriguez and Ashley Barnes.
Harlee Dean, 6: A solid enough showing from the experienced defender who is still working back to playing regularly. Reading dealt with most things in the middle of the pitch, it was out wide where the side gave away chances.
Abraham Kanu, 7: A really good showing from the youngster who defended well throughout. Handled his opposite number physically but the left has less attacking threat.
Lewis Wing, 6: Kept the ball ticking over and picked out some good passes. Got his name on the scoresheet but in rather fortuitous circumstances. Did the dirty side well, winning some big tackles.
Charle Savage, 6: Pressed well and did the usual ‘Savage’ running against a young opposing midfield. Had fewer chances to shoot than usual.
Harvey Knibbs, 6: Ran himself into the ground and came close to threading a ball through on more than one occasion. Nearly on the scoresheet but for a superb block in the box.
Jayden Wareham, 6: Got better as the game wore on, starting slowly. Ran the channels hard and won possession out wide countless times.
Sam Smith, 6: A tough afternoon against a pair of very experienced central defenders. Had few sights of goal but linked up well with the midfield.
Kelvin Abrefa, 5: As he did at Charlton, the full-back played further up the pitch. Not as effective as he was at the Valley and crosses were below par.
Substitutes
Louie Holzman, 6: Strong showing off the bench from the youngster, who defended well but needed to be calmer in possession.
Emmanuel Osho, 6: Lots of energy from the teenager. A decent cameo.
