Reading are in 'advanced talks' to sign Burton Albion winger Billy Bodin on loan, according to reports.

The 32-year-old has four goals for the Brewers so far this season but has been out of favour in recent months.

An experienced EFL campaigner, Bodin has formerly played for the likes of Bristol Rovers, Preston North End and Oxford United- beginning his career at Swindon Town.

He is the son of former Royal Paul Bodin, who played 41 games between 1996 and 1998.

Having lost striker Sam Smith to Wrexham last week, the Royals are working hard to bring in a replacement and continue to discuss options with the English Football League.

According to Football League World, the EFL have granted the club permission and Bodin is in 'advanced talks' over a deadline day switch.

Teams have until 11pm to complete any deals.
