SOUTHAMPTON boxers Ryan Garner and Lewie Edmondson laid down the gauntlet for their opponents one last time ahead of Collision on the Coast.

Four unbeaten fighters will clash with major belts on the line in both bouts at Bournemouth International Centre on Saturday, March 1.

Garner, 27 years old and 16-0, headlines the bill as he takes on 14-1-0 Spaniard Salvador Jimenez for the vacant European Super Featherweight title.

Speaking in the pre-fight press conference, WBC International Super Featherweight champion Garner said: "I'm looking forward to it.

"We've sold about 1,400 or 1,500 tickets so far, and I'm always getting messages for them, so I'm looking forward to a big support.

"When times get tough in there, because it's going to be a tough fight, they'll be there to cheer me on and it'll give me that little uplift.

"The atmosphere, it's going to be something else. With Lewie next to me, he's going to sell quite a lot of tickets as well so the show should be nearly sold out.

"I just went in there and looked at the venue, it's like a little coliseum in there. I'm looking forward to a good fight in there with the arena pumping."

Garner added: "I had two big wins last year, but that means nothing now, that's all in the past, I've got the toughest test of my career in front of me.

"I know it's going to be a very, very tough fight and like he said earlier, he's ready for a war so I've got to be on my A game to win this fight.

"I'm going to be ready for everything. I'm not just doing this for me, I've got two little girls at home, so I'm going to make sure I win for them."

Meanwhile, 10-0 Edmondson, 29, will defend his Commonwealth Light-heavyweight title for the first time against Nigerian Oluwatosin Kejawa.

Having captured his titles by beating Dan Azeez in October, Edmondson faces a promising 23 year old fighter with an 11-0 record.

Edmondson said: "Of course, there is always a little bit of nerves but that's a good thing and on Saturday, we are going to make a statement.

"The preparation has gone well, we've been preparing for a long time and we're ready to go. We're very confident, I don't see a man that can stop me.

"I genuinely believe that. Everybody wants a shot at his belt, so I'm feeling it now and it's a good position to be in, pressure makes diamonds.

"it's a good position to be in and there are some good fights out there, but Saturday night, all focus is on Kejawa - and then we move on from there."
