The tie may be taking place at a Premier League ground but a referee who regularly officiates in the Championship is set to be the middle for Watford’s trip to Fulham tomorrow night.

The FA website has stated that Matt Donohue has been appointed to take charge of the FA Cup third round clash at Craven Cottage.

Donohue has officiated in 15 league and cup fixtures so far this season, issuing a total of 57 yellow cards and four reds.

The official, who began his refereeing journey at the age of 14, has been in charge of one fixture involving the Hornets in this campaign, the 2-1 home victory over Middlesbrough in October in which Edo Kayembe and Kwadwo Baah were on target for the hosts.

Paul Hodskinson and James Wilson are due to be the assistant referees for the 7.45pm kick-off, with Gavin Ward the fourth official for the tie against Marco Silva’s side who are currently ninth in the Premier League.
