RGS take convincing win in ninth annual Football Challenge Cup
RGS Worcester took a convincing 4-0 win over cross-city rivals King's Worcester in the Football Challenge Cup at Sixways Stadium.
The ninth iteration of the competition got off to a quick start, with both sides battling hard to retain possession on the fast surface.
RGS broke the deadlock early on and raced through to take the lead. Hayden Parkes - leading the line - fired home to get his side off the mark, before Albert Padmore doubled the advantage to send RGS with a healthy 2-0 lead heading into the break.
RGS continued in similar fashion in the second period. Hayden Parkes was enjoying a fantastic performance and bagged his brace early into the half, before the side's captain - Will Edgehill - capped off the performance, putting home the final goal of the day.
The game was not without its chances for King's, who went through on numerous occasions but were unable to finish home past RGS goalkeeper George Hallam, who enjoyed a strong showing between the sticks.
