Richarlison returns, Kulusevski decision - The team Ange Postecoglou must select to face Arsenal

Tottenham Hotspur welcome Arsenal on Sunday in another high pressure edition of the North London Derby with plenty to play for in the Premier League.

The Gunners are looking to keep pace in the title race with Manchester City, with Liverpool lurking behind, while Spurs are looking to build some momentum for a tough final run of six fixtures as they aim to overhaul Aston Villa for a top four spot this season. Derby bragging rights are up for grabs with the reverse fixture having ended in a 2-2 draw at the Emirates Stadium.

We asked our Tottenham reporters Alasdair Gold and Rob Guest which starting XI they would select for the home side this weekend if they were in Ange Postecoglou's shoes.

The loss of Destiny Udogie for the remainder of the season following his quadriceps surgery is a blow but at least Postecoglou has been buoyed by the return of Pedro Porro and Richarlison to full training this week. The Australian has already said that Ben Davies will come into the team to replace Udogie and the Welshman is yet to lose a single home North London Derby that he has started for Spurs.

If Richarlison is fit enough to start a match then he could provide a focal point up front for Tottenham and also a presence in the air which could come in handy in attack but also in defending against an Arsenal team that has scored more set piece goals than anyone else in the Premier League.

The Brazilian's inclusion would push skipper Son Heung-min back to his favoured left-wing role and then the decision would be between the pace of Brennan Johnson down the right, or switching Timo Werner there, or bringing Dejan Kulusevski, who became a father for the first time this week, back into the team. Johnson played well in the reverse fixture before suffering a hamstring injury and his pace and direct running could cause Arsenal problems down their left.

In the midfield, the trio of Pape Matar Sarr, Yves Bissouma and James Maddison all starred in the previous North London Derby and Postecoglou could choose to reunite them once again and hope that they kickstart back into form at just the right time.

Gold's XI: Vicario; Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Davies; Sarr, Bissouma, Maddison; Johnson, Richarlison, Son.

Postecoglou has a number of decisions to make ahead of Tottenham's North London Derby showdown against Arsenal. The first comes at left-back with Destiny Udogie out for the season after having to undergo surgery on a quadriceps issue.

Ben Davies will come into the side and take the Italian's place on the left. On the right, Postecoglou has a straightforward call to make with Pedro Porro available for the game amid previous question marks over his fitness following his early exit against Newcastle United.

In midfield, Pape Matar Sarr should return to the middle of the park to give Spurs plenty of energy in there. Yves Bissouma didn't have the best of games at St James' Park last time out but he will probably win the race over Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg to start.

Richarlison, if in a position to play from the first minute, should start as Tottenham have missed his physical presence in recent weeks. That in turn could see Son Heung-min return to his best on the left flank, with Timo Werner the man to make way in order for the Brazilian to return to his striker role.

Guest's XI: Vicario; Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Davies; Bissouma, Sarr, Maddison; Johnson, Richarlison, Son.
