Rio Ferdinand live reaction to Everton vs Liverpool chaos speaks volumes as four red cards issued
Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand branded the post-match scenes following the final Merseyside derby held at Goodison Park as 'crazy'. Between Everton, who scored a 98th-minute equaliser, and Liverpool there were four red cards shown in heated scenes after the final whistle.
An occasion billed as historic long before a ball was kicked, the Blues and the Reds met on this turf for the final time before the former change stadiums to their new 52,000-seater venue. They treated supporters to an electric 2-2 battle, thought to have been won by Mohamed Salah but drawn level by a thunderous James Tarkowski volley deep into stoppage time.
Referee Michael Oliver blew his final whistle not long after but his night was not finished yet. Everton midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure rushed over the away supporters, an act that did not go down well with Curtis Jones who responded with a shove.

"I've been there, [Mario] Balotelli at Wembley doing that to our [Manchester United] fans. I was incensed and I can understand Curtis Jones," TNT Sports pundit Ferdinand responded, recalling his own playing days with Manchester United against Manchester City.
"You don't want to see anyone creating a storm like that but the feeling when you see someone go up to your fans, giving it to them, after a game of such..."
He was cut off as Oliver proceeded to show each player a second yellow card, on top of those they had received within the match itself.
When the opportunity arrived, Ferdinand added: "You don't want to see that but Curtis Jones has seen Doucoure go to his fans in that away section there and start giving it to them. He wasn't happy.
"Not great to see that but you wouldn't want to see Goodison Park any other way but this. Craziness, absolute scenes here."
Not only were the two players punished but so too were Reds head coach Arne Slot and his assistant Sipke Hulshoff, for reasons less obvious and left unexplained by a Premier League statement after both squads had left the field.
