Rio Ngumoha leaves Chelsea shattered again as Liverpool complete remarkable comeback
Rio Ngumoha netted against former club Chelsea as Liverpool produced a remarkable comeback to reach the U18 Premier League Cup semi-finals. The young Reds came from two goals behind with seven minutes remaining to win 3-2 at the Cobham Training Centre on Saturday.
Ngumoha, the 16-year-old winger who joined from Chelsea in the summer and made his Liverpool senior debut last month, notched the equaliser after Trey Nyoni pulled a goal back, paving the way for Alvin Ayman to net the winner during additional time.
It was the perfect way for 17-year-old midfielder Ayman - an arrival from Wolves last year - to celebrate signing his first professional contract last week.

Nyoni and Amara Nallo both started against Chelsea having featured from the bench for the senior side in their 3-2 Champions League defeat at PSV Eindhoven on Wednesday, with centre-back Nallo sent off four minutes into his debut.
But Chelsea were the more clinical inside the opening hour, with Ryan Kavuma-McQueen breaking the deadlock on 27 minutes before Genesis Antwi doubled the advantage for the home side on 58 minutes.
Liverpool, though, always remained a threat, and pulled a goal back on 83 minutes when Nyoni pounced after Joe Bradshaw's cross wasn't properly cleared. Ngumoha then had his moment to remember four minutes later, probing his way into the box and then working a shooting position inside the far post.
And Ayman completed the comeback for Marc Bridge-Wilkinson's side by stretching at the far post to prod home Josh Sonni-Lambie's low cross.
Liverpool U18s are next in action on Saturday when they entertain Manchester United in the U18 Premier League North at Kirkby (kick-off 11am).
