Rio Ngumoha makes Liverpool debut as Arne Slot makes eight changes for Accrington Stanley
Rio Ngumoha makes his full Liverpool debut as Dominik Szoboszlai returns against Accrington Stanley in the FA Cup. The Reds host the struggling League Two side for what is just the second-ever meeting between the clubs and Arne Slot, as expected, rotates heavily ahead of Tuesday’s return to Premier League action, away at Nottingham Forest.
Slot makes eight changes in total as teenage winger Ngumoha makes his first senior appearance since joining from Chelsea over the summer. The academy talent takes up a spot on the left flank with Diogo Jota entrusted as the most advanced midfielder. Harvey Elliott is stationed on the right, while Darwin Nunez leads the line.
Jota starts only his second game since October 20 this afternoon and will operating as the No.10 in Slot’s system as Nunez returns up top. Federico Chiesa, whose only start for the club came back in September, is on the bench.

Wataru Endo starts at centre-back and Jarell Quansah is named next to the Japan International having shrugged off an illness that forced his first-half withdrawal in Wednesday’s 1-0 loss to Tottenham Hotspur in the Carabao Cup.
Having started on the bench midweek, Trent Alexander-Arnold returns at right-back and will captain the side on what is his 336th Liverpool appearance.
Szoboszlai starts his first game of the New Year having returned to training earlier this week. The Hungary captain is alongside Tyler Morton, who has passed a fitness test after suffering a knock that caused him to miss Wednesday night.
