Robert Sanchez and Tosin Adarabioyo disagree on Chelsea vs Everton verdict as clear message sent
Robert Sanchez and Tosin Adarabioyo have both responded to Chelsea's Premier League draw against Everton with slightly different verdicts. The Blues saw their nine-game winning run come to an end at Goodison Park with the point picked up seeing them remain second as Liverpool extended their lead at the top after beating Tottenham.
Arne Slot's side are now four points clear at the top and with a game in hand. Earlier in the day, Chelsea failed to beat Everton, a team likely to be in a relegation battle, but Enzo Maresca was still pleased with the outcome for a number of reasons.
"I'm absolutely happy," Maresca admitted when asked for his thoughts on the result. "I just said to the players that I am more happy today than the Brentford game. The reason why is because I was quite worried about today's game; a tricky game, a tricky stadium, a tricky team.

"They are defensively top. They are one of the five best teams in Europe in terms of clean sheets. You struggle to create chances against them and it was not an easy game.
"You have to deal and you have to learn to play different games; long balls, second balls, set-pieces. Football is not just what we do on the ball, it is also how you defend and deal with that." Everton have not lost at home in the league since the opening day of the season and thus a point is actually quite a good result for Chelsea.
Picking up a clean sheet, with four defenders absent, is also promising given the Blues had only kept one in the league since mid-September. One of the players to benefit from the key absences at the back was Tosin Adarabioyo with the summer signing alongside Axel Disasi at centre-back which saw Levi Colwill moved out to left-back.
Following the game, Tosin wrote on Instagram: "A clean sheet and a point on the road." While Tosin was seemingly in agreement with Maresca about it being a positive result, Sanchez wanted more. "Very difficult place to go to," the Chelsea goalkeeper said via Instagram.
"A clean sheet but only +1 when we wanted more. Two more games to end 2024 strongly! Let’s go together chels [blue heart and flexed arm emoji] @chelseafc."
Though it is extremely likely that Tosin would have also wanted his side to win, Sanchez's response was certainly telling. The Spaniard has improved as of late and made a number of key saves to stop Everton from scoring with Tosin also making a huge block to deny Iliman Ndiaye late on.
