Life after Liverpool has been rocky, to say the very least, for Roberto Firmino. Once revered at Anfield, the Brazilian now finds himself playing in Saudi Arabia the under constant scrutiny that comes with being one of the Saudi Pro League's most high-profile players.

Firmino departed Liverpool as a certified Kop icon in 2023, his tearful goodbye coming after an eight-year partnership that saw him lift the Premier League and Champions League titles, score the winning goal of the Club World Cup and most importantly redefine the centre forward position in modern-day football. At 31 he made the move as so many others did that summer to Saudi Arabia, joining Al-Ahli in his case.

This campaign has again been a mixed one for him personally, starting 14 of 20 appearances with a return of six goals and four assists. While his own numbers have been respectful enough, Firmino's side are struggling and currently sit 11 points off first-placed Al-Hilal in the Saudi Pro League table.

They also still have work to do in the AFC Champions League Elite after being knocked out of both domestic cup competitions. He recently arrived back from a recent winter break and registered another assist in a 3-2 win over Al-Shabab, slap bang in the middle of third successive transfer window he is linked with being moved on.

Firmino had been benched during six of an eight-match run in October. He was supposedly offered to other clubs including Egypt's Zamalek, as was confirmed by the club's president.

It has been claimed that former Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho hopes to sign the Brazilian for current club Fenerbahce, per talkSPORT. The former Red - religious throughout his time on Merseyside and in his current setting - has published faithful messages to prove that he is not done fighting yet.

"Finishing is better than starting. Patience is better than pride. Ecclesiastes‬ ‭7‬‬:‭8‬," was the caption he used as the caption to an Instagram post this weekend.

Also posting to his story, he added the verse: "Fight the good fight of faith. Hold fast to the eternal life to which you were called and which you declared so well in the presence of many witnesses," from 1 Timothy 6:11-12.

Firmino will no doubt now be hoping his side can follow their win over Al-Shabab up with another victory against Al Kholood on Wednesday, January 15.
