Goalkeeper Myles Roberts has joined Bristol Rovers in Sky Bet League One on loan.

The 23-year-old will link-up with his new team-mates on a deal until the end of the season, with no option to buy.

This will be the second loan move of 2024/25 for Roberts, who spent the first part of the campaign north of the border with Partick Thistle.

He was extremely popular at Partick, twice winning their Player of the Month award.

He made 21 appearances in all competitions for the Scottish Championship side, keeping eight clean sheets.

Roberts was recalled by the Hornets last month following the injury picked up by Daniel Bachmann, and has been named on the first-team bench five times since then.

He first joined the Golden Boys from Reading in January 2020, after coming through the Royals’ Academy.

The keeper later went out on loan to Wingate & Finchley, where he made six appearances.

Roberts then earned regular football in the National League South, appearing 36 times for Concord Rangers in the 2021/22 campaign before playing on 29 occasions for Welling United, where he won the Manager's Player of the Year award for the 2022/23 season.

"It gives me a new opportunity to play for a League One team and gain more experience," Roberts said on his move.

"I need to continue playing so joining Bristol Rovers was the right move for me now.

"It's a good test and a challenge that I’m ready for.

"I want to help Bristol Rovers get to where they want to go to, and I want to continue to develop as a player."

By joining Rovers, Roberts will link up with his former Watford teammate Shaq Forde, who has made 25 appearances and scored twice since joining in the summer.

Rovers don’t have a game this weekend, so Roberts could make his debut when they host Stockport County on February 11.
