Sir Rod Stewart has been pictured donning a Celtic top as he begins the celebrations for his 80th birthday.

The football-daft musician, 79, was joined by family and friends, who were all wearing Celtic gear, as he began to celebrate the major milestone ahead of his birthday on January 10.

Taking to social media to share the cute picture, the Maggie May singer was all smiles as he posed in his Hoops jersey.

In the Instagram post, Rod said: "Early birthday celebrations."
