Rovers have agreed a deal for Nottingham Forest forward Emmanuel Dennis, The Lancashire Telegraph understands.

The club has been looking to bolster its strike department before tonight’s deadline at 11pm, with Yuki Ohashi facing another three to four weeks out of action through injury.

Dennis is out of favour at the City Ground and has not featured this season after he was left out of Forest’s 25-man Premier League squad.

A number of clubs had been linked with the 27-year-old - including Watford and Sheffield Wednesday - but he is now set for a medical at Rovers, as reported by Fabrizio Romano.

Dennis arrived in English football in 2021, heading to Watford following spells in Ukraine and Belgium.

He managed 10 goals and six assists in 33 Premier League appearances during the 2021/22 campaign as the Hornets were relegated.

The striker returned to the top flight with Forest but struggled to nail down a place in the side, making six starts in the league and scoring twice.

Dennis had a couple of loans last season, first at Turkish club Istanbul Basaksehir before returning to Vicarage Road.

Cauley Woodrow is also understood to be having a medical at Rovers ahead of a proposed move from Luton.

Earlier today, the club signed left-back Yuri Ribeiro from Braga on a permanent deal until the end of the season.

Dion Sanderson, Adam Forshaw and Augustus Kargbo have also made the move to Ewood Park since the start of the window.
