Rovers confirm David Lowe will take charge of West Brom clash
Rovers have confirmed that David Lowe will take charge of the side against West Brom at the Hawthorns.
Lowe will be supported by Damien Johnson, Ben Benson, Mike Sheron and Paul Butler in the dugout.
The Lancashire Telegraph revealed on Monday that John Eustace had agreed to become the new head coach at Derby County following crunch talks with the Rovers board.
The club have now confirmed that Eustace and his staff will not be on the touchline against the Baggies.
An update via Rovers' official social media channels read: "Discussions between Rovers and another Championship club over the future of John Eustace and his backroom staff remain ongoing.
"As a result, David Lowe will lead the team for tonight’s important Championship fixture against West Bromwich Albion, supported by Damien Johnson, Ben Benson, Mike Sheron and Paul Butler."
It is a big game in the Championship play-off race, with the sides sitting fifth and sixth in the table respectively.
