Rovers have made a further 1,000 tickets available in the Blackburn End upper tier for the upcoming East Lancashire derby against Burnley.

Last week, the club announced they would be opening the section to home supporters for the first time in five years.

Initially, 1,500 tickets were made available and that figure has been increased this morning to Rovers fans with a database booking history.

There are fewer than 500 tickets remaining in other home areas and the club say that once these have been sold, no further seats will be made available.

An official update read: “An extra 1,000 tickets have now been made available in the Blackburn End upper tier for the East Lancashire derby against Burnley on Saturday, January 4.

“Due to high demand for tickets for this fixture, the club initially released 1,508 tickets in the upper tier last week and an additional 1,000 have now gone on sale this morning - to Rovers supporters only with a database booking history.

“Fewer than 500 tickets are also available in other home areas (Riverside and Jack Walker Stand).

“Once these remaining tickets have been sold, no further tickets will be available. So act fast and secure your ticket today, to ensure you don’t miss what looks set to be a sell-out!”

Burnley sit third in the Championship table, kicking off the festive period with a 2-1 win against Watford over the weekend.

The Clarets are four points behind leaders Sheffield United ahead of their trip to Bramall Lane on Boxing Day.

The points were shared when Rovers headed to Turf Moor earlier this season, with Andi Weimann’s thunderbolt cancelling out Lyle Foster’s header.
