Ruben Amorim admits Manchester United have taken a 'risk' with transfer window
Ruben Amorim admits Manchester United have taken "risks" with their winter transfer window activity and that figures at the club are "fighting for our jobs".
United lost their 11th Premier League match of the campaign at home to Crystal Palace on Sunday and are languishing in 13th with a -6 goal difference.
The club signed left back Patrick Dorgu and centre back Ayden Heaven in the window but failed to recruit a forward to offset the departures of Antony and Marcus Rashford on loan.

Strikers Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee have scored five league goals between them and the former has gone 13 games without a goal. Zirkzee has scored one in his past 16 appearances.
Amorim, who replaced Erik ten Hag as manager in November, has previously said the current United side is "maybe the worst in the club's history". United have lost eight of Amorim's 19 matches in charge and have been beaten in five of their past six league home games.
"What I feel is that the club is taking its time," Amorim said of the transfer strategy. "We know the urgency of the moment, the moment of the team, everybody here doesn't want to make the same mistakes that we did in the past.
"We have to improve the players we have and win some games and in the summer we will see. But, like I said, we are being really careful with transfers because we made some mistakes in the past.
"I think it's a moment that is hard to turn things around in just a few games. It’s going to be like that, really hard until the end of the season.
"Then we are taking that risk you talk about because we want a different thing in our team. We want different profiles - and that is my area. So it was my decision to do that.
"We are taking some risks but is the way we want to proceed, we want to win some games. We can improve our team, we have time to train because I’m always complaining about the time to train! We are going to improve the team, the players. I want certain type of players with a different profile and we are changing right away.
"I know when I choose this profession that you have the risk of the results. And I knew when I came here, I looked at the schedule, I looked at the team, my decision of changing everything, taking these hard decisions in the middle of the season without new signings. It’s a danger for a coach.
"Since day one, with good results or bad results, I have a clear idea of what I want to do and I take these risks because in the end, I think it’s going to pay off.
"But I’m not naive, I said that many times, this is a sport of results and we are in a difficult situation."
United invested £108.5m on Hojlund and Zirkzee in successive summers, which has prohibited them from adding a goalscorer despite clearing the majority of Rashford's Antony's salaries off the wage bill until July.
When Amorim was asked about Rashford, he replied: "Like we said before, we are fighting for our jobs until the summer. So I am just focused on these games.
"Thankfully, Marcus is in Birmingham now with Unai, so you can take the questions this month to another coach. We are just focused on our players."
